25/9/17 Week 5 Kamal Afiq [0330643] Web Design & New Media Week 5 Lecture Notes Week 5 Lecture Old HTML used generic tags. HTML5 uses new Semantic elements like <Footer> and <Header>. These semantic elements can tell developers how to separate information. Id and Class attributes can be used to identify information and content. ID attribute Every HTML carries ID attributes. It is used to identify elements from others on a page. No two elements can have the same ID attribute. Class attribute Every HTML element can also carry a class attribute. Several elements can be identified from others on a page. They can be used like this: <img src="images/randomimage.jpeg" class="classname" /> <img src="images/randomimage.jpeg"  id="idname" />   Using these attributes doesn't actually change how they look on the page. It only changes if there is a CSS rule that indicates that they should...

Web Design Week 4

18/9/17 Week 4 Kamal Afiq [0330643] Web Design & New Media Week 4 Lecture Notes Week 4 Lecture We were given a lecture about organizing websites. Information should be organized into easy to understand chunks. Complex sites require proper information architecture. When confronted with complex information, users create mental models or interpretations about how it works. The success of a website's organization depends on how well you match user expectations. Navigation systems should neither be too shallow or too deep. If they're shallow, menu lists will be very long. If too deep, navigation will become confusing. There are two different types of webpages: static webpages dont change and are made by plain code and HTML. Dynamic webpages have content that changes and are written in server-side scripting languages like PHP, JSP, Coldfusion, etc.Well balanced navigation and site hierarchy offer users menus to make it easy and quick to access information. 4/9/17, Week 2 Kamal Afiq [0330643] 2D Animation Week 2 Lecture Notes Week 2 Limited animation planning Because of a public holiday we weren't able to have class. Mr. Hafiz did leave us however with a task; to start planning out the Limited Animation stop-motion assignment. Instructions Limited Animation Plan out the rough story of a minimum 10-second animation. The actual scenes are to be done analogously.  Work Processes Limited Animation I started out by figuring out what kind of story I wanted to create. I thought that an action-packed story would be fun to animate and help me figure out my strengths and weaknesses. I didn't want to make anything too serious, but more light-hearted and fun. I thought a fight between a penguin and a leopard seal would be pretty interesting, and if they fought with modern weapons it would funny as well. I came up with a couple of character sketches. The characters were kept relatively simple and cartoon...
